The Emperor Experience
Authentic experiences shared by those who’ve travelled the Emperor way.

This is our second holiday with Emperor Tours. 2 years ago we toured some popular and some lesser known places in China. This time (Jan26) we have just completed a 2 week tour in Cambodia – visiting Phnom Penhm, Battembang and Siem Reap. We are both late 70s so needed a tour which would match our fitness. All our guides and drivers were excellent. One took us to Phnom Penh and Battembang and then we had a local specialist guide to continue the holiday in Siem Reap. Both the guides were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and our drivers were also helpful and we felt entirely safe, given the somewhat chaotic roads in Cambodia (although crossing the street in Cambodia, drivers were much more relaxed and much less aggressive than in Thailand). The tour itinerary included a nice mix of temples and lots of other activities and was fully customised to our wishes. Battembang Bamboo Railway was great fun. We saw lots of highly skilled craftsmen on our travels and did some fun things like an ox cart ride. We particularly enjoyed the Phare circus and the Kanell dinner show with its fantastic dancers – both folk and traditional dance, its very funny monkey dancers and great displays of martial arts both unarmed, and with lethal swords and scythes. Emperor Tours booked us excellent seats at the circus and got us a centre front row table at Kanell. Emperor gave us excellent support. Before we travelled they worked with us to customise the holiday to exactly suit our wishes and also advise for things like visas. Then advised us how to cope with the boarder dispute (now thankfully settled) which affected where it would be safe to travel in Cambodia. We would certainly use Emperor again and would recommend them to anyone else wanting personal service from an independent travel agent.Posted on Amanda JackTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My partner and I personalised the 9 day “Explore Japan” tour and visited this beautiful country earlier this month. We fell in love with the people, the culture & history, the food and the stunning scenery. We booked our own international flights separately; otherwise all of our travel arrangements were expertly arranged by Ling. We started in Hiroshima, went onto Kyoto and ended our holiday in Tokyo. We devised our own itinerary in Hiroshima as we stayed for longer than the advertised programme. All three hotels were excellent choices, but we especially enjoyed the Sheraton Grand in Hiroshima as its location was perfect for travelling around the city via tram from the mainline station next door. The taxi transfers that Ling also organised made our trip seamless and stress-free. We enjoyed most of the arranged day tours where we joined other tourists, as part of the overall tour programme with JTB Sunrise being a good tour company partner. If you want an easy way to visit Japan, then I can highly recommend using Ling’s services at Emperor Tours.Posted on Donald RobertsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have used Emperor tours for holidays to China and Japan and found them very informative, professional and friendly. They helped to make both tours personal to us, including all the places we wanted to visit along with other suggestions. The guides were all helpful, informative and very friendly. We have recommended this company to many friends and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.Posted on Kevin LopezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We booked a holiday to China just before the pandemic, after long delays, we finally went in May / Jun this year. We were not disappointed. Every aspect of the tour was taken care of with great attention to details. The hotels and restaurants were all very nice. We had different guides, all spoke good English. There were so many highlights and great memories, Great Wall, Terracotta Solders, Li River, … Great company, will definitely use again.Posted on BrandonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Japan with Emperor Tours. The tour was very well organised. Hotels were centrally located and good quality, we particularly enjoyed staying in the traditional ryokan. Guides were informative, polite and helpful. We would have no hesitation to recommend Emperor Tours to anyone who's considering travelling to Japan!Posted on William NolanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I have recently returned from a wonderful holiday (Ultimate Japan 7-23 May) and I was saddened to read the negative comments regarding this trip. We are seasoned travellers, are respectful of people from all walks of life, don’t concern ourselves with trivia and appreciate that, on occasion, things don’t always go to plan. It is fair to say that there were some hiccups during our trip, all of which were resolved immediately, and we thought, to everyone’s satisfaction. In short, we enjoyed one of the best holidays of our lives, thanks to an amazing itinerary, and indeed a fascinating country and its people. On returning home, we gave our brilliant contact at Emperor Tours, Ling Todd, some constructive feedback about some minor improvements that we felt could be made for future travellers. Ling advised she will ensure that these will be put in place to further enhance the experience. I would have no hesitation in recommending Emperor Tours.Posted on Linda HansonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We’ve just returned from the ‘Ultimate Japan’ Tour (7-23 May) arranged by Emporer Tours. Japan is an amazing country and its people are wonderfully kind, friendly and respectful! This tour is a ‘full-on’ mostly-guided itinerary (with some free time along the way). It takes in so many fantastic places*, travelling by mini-bus, shinkansen (bullet train), local trains and buses and there were a number of fabulous walks too! *Tokyo-Mount Fuji-Hakone-Nagano-Yudanaka-Matsumoto-Takayama-Kanawaza-Kyoto-Nara-Mount Koya-Hiroshima-Osaka. (Contact them for full details now!) The hotels were, without exception, excellent and all were centrally located, close to restaurants, shops and other local amenities. A highlight was an overnight stay in temple lodgings at Mount Koya – a mountain resort reached by scenic railway and funicular tram. From the moment we enquired about the tour, Ling Todd, our contact, was so very helpful; she came back to us immediately with answers to any questions we had, and was a huge support, when there were queries from our group when we were on tour. We would highly recommend Emperor Tours and, no doubt, we will be travelling with them again in the future! Finally, a big thank you to you, Ling!Posted on Carolyn McKayTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The most helpful company I've ever come across. Ling Todd is amazing!
